FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
• Can I come to the library whenever I need to?
Before school, after school and at lunch, students may use the library. During class sessions students must present a pass from the teacher to gain access to the library.


• Can I check out materials for a friend?
It is never advisable to check out items in your name for someone else since you are responsible for any materials on your records.


• How long can I check out books?
Books may be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed twice. Reference books can be checked out after school and are due before school the next morning.


• When is the library media center open?
The library media center is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The library media center is also open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
School days only.


• How do I get a library card?
Students at Lee High School use their six-digit identification number to borrow materials.


• How many books can I check out?
Students can check out 3 books at a time.


• Can I check out magazines?
Yes, magazines may be checked out for one night and are due sometime the next day.


• Can I check out videos and audio-visual equipment?
No, these are reserved for use by the staff.


• How much are fines?
Fines are 10 cents per school day per book or magazine.
Fines on reference books are 60 cents per school day.


• How do I know if I have any overdue materials?
This information is computer-generated; past-due notices are sent to students via English class. You may inquire about this information at the circulation desk.


• Can I use the computers in the library?
Student may use the computers in the library for word processing by registering at the front. Internet access is limited to students with a MISD Internet Agreement on file. Agreements are available in the library.
